Aykut’s addition to Simpplr’s executive team indicates a deeper focus on advanced analytics and artificial intelligence for the company. Prior to Simpplr, Aykut held the position of Chief Data Scientist at Brandwatch, a leading social listening platform. At Brandwatch, Aykut has developed advanced capabilities for artificial intelligence, including deep learning-based sentiment analysis, audience interest identification, and intelligent entity demystification-assisted search that uses advanced language models such as GPT-2. These technology accomplishments were the direct drivers of Brandwatch as the technology leader—a feat that accelerated its revenue to more than $100 million in ARR and eventual acquisition.
Prior to his role in Brandwatch, Aykut held several major data titles at companies such as Crimson Hexagon, iAggregate, Affinnova, and others. He holds a Ph.D. of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and advises other companies within the Tula Capital portfolio.
