Cancun and the Riviera Maya are not just places in the Mexican Caribbean to vacation but magical places to get married as well, and both areas continue to grow as hotspots for destination weddings.  The increase in the popularity of escaping to the Riviera Maya to get married began during the pandemic when many cities in the world were shut down and not allowing events to take place.  People who had already had plans to get married then made the decision to go to places that were not shut down and offered a breathtaking backdrop for even the simplest, smallest weddings.

According to industry leaders, the growth in the number of destination weddings held in the Riviera Maya area is as much as 200 percent compared to 2019.  While they do not have precise data to back this up, they feel the shift in the number of people who desire to have such weddings.  To keep up with demand, the Expo Destination Wedding event that will take place in early October was created, an event designed to bring together wedding vendors and planners to make future planning even better.

The cost of a destination wedding will vary depending on a number of factors.  Where the wedding will be held, how many people will be in attendance, what kind of vendors and amenities are included, and what type of theme the wedding will have will all play a role in the price.  For this reason, it can be difficult to determine what the total cost will be in the end, but we’ll list a couple of venues here with an estimated cost to give you some sort of idea of what you’ll pay for a destination wedding in the Riviera Maya.
